Community Programs
Our VEGOUT program makes it easy for you to access healthy, locally grown vegetables! We pick up vegetables straight from Essex County farmers and deliver them directly to our pantry and food access partners, where you can shop for other healthy foods as well. All produce is free to those who are visiting the food pantries and mobile markets. From June through October, you will find a wide variety of in-season vegetables to choose from.

Our Farm SHARE program connects community members to local CSAs (community supported agriculture) at an affordable price. Participants choose from our list of farm partners and pick up a bag of freshly harvested vegetables from that location weekly, June β October. Learn more about eligibility at the link below.
Farm SHARE
This program is right for you if:
you love to eat and cook fresh produce;
local produce is typically out of your budget or you are currently facing food insecurity;
you have access to reliable transportation;
you are willing to commit to picking up your weekly box of produce from the farm for the full 20-week season, June - October;
you agree to participate in a pre-season and post-season survey or interview;
you have access to email and are willing to communicate both with NNS staff and the local farm you are paired with as needed.
you can afford at least 1/3rd of the cost of shares offered, with subsidized prices ranging from $130 - $250 for the entire season. Three of our partners, Long Hill Orchard & Farm in West Newbury and New Entry Sustainable Farming Project in Beverly, and Iron Ox Farm in Hamilton accept SNAP and HIP.
What is a βCSAβ?
Community Supported Agriculture is a business model that fosters a strong relationship between CSA members and farmers. Each member purchases a "share" at the beginning of the season providing the farm with capital upfront for purchasing seeds, soil amendments, and tools. With the investment from members, the farmer can grow and distribute vegetables throughout the season. By joining a CSA you share in both the risk and reward inherent to growing vegetables.
Our Farm Partners
βThe food was gorgeous and joining the CSA enhanced my life in a big way. I cooked at home, enjoyed the new vegetables, and felt connected to the local farm community.β
